Return to your hotel. Check out and transfer to Paris Gare d’Austerlitz. Board the legendary Venice Simplon Orient Express and settle into your plush private cabin. Linger in your cabin as your steward serves a French breakfast, the perfect way to begin the day, especially combined with the scenery through your window: the soaring mountains and glacial lakes of Switzerland’s Gotthard route.

A leisurely three-course lunch brings further gourmet indulgence, after which you can return to your cabin to read, reflect or simply gaze at the views.

Before arriving in Venice, your steward serves a delicious French goûter. Be transfixed by the vistas as the train crosses the Venetian Lagoon and pulls into Santa Lucia Station, then disembark for your adventure in La Serenissima.

Lunch on your own (option to reserve a table before the trip). We recommend the restaurant “Antiche Carampane”. Delight in authentic Venetian cuisine at this renowned restaurant, known for its intimate atmosphere and exquisite dishes. We book for you. 

Private Gondola Ride: Discover the canals of Venice with an exclusive gondola ride, accompanied by a guide who will share the city’s secrets.

Visit San Marco Basilica: St. Marco Basilica in Venice is a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture, adorned with golden mosaics and precious marbles, symbolizing the grandeur and wealth of the Venetian Republic.

NB: We can reserve seats for you at the Venice opera, although the program for late October is not yet known.

For dinner we suggest “Glam di Enrico Bartolini”. The discreet, partially hidden entrance to Palazzo Venart opens into what is a rarity in Venice – a small but charming garden with beautiful furniture in what is a genuine orangery. A second garden overlooks the Grand Canal and offers tables where, in summer, guests can enjoy a coffee or liqueur after their meal. Nestled between these two gardens, a magnificent hotel is home to the restaurant itself, where Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini and the highly talented resident chef Donato Ascani offer guests a fine-dining experience. There are two tasting menus: “Arte, orti e laguna” which features dishes that pay tribute to Venice and its culinary traditions, and “I Classici del Glam”, showcasing iconic dishes from the chef’s long career. Every course is prepared with the chef’s natural instinct for care and passion and is full of intense and harmonious flavours. The option of arriving here by boat makes this restaurant even more exclusive.
