8 days / 7 nights Itinerary
Travel periods: December 2025
There is a time of year when everything becomes a bit magical in Provence: the period leading up to Christmas throughout the month of December. All the towns and villages light up to celebrate this part of the year, known for being a time of gift-giving, warm meals, and enchanting lights strung above the streets or in the trees. The temperature is usually very pleasant during the day. Terraces are open, and it’s not uncommon to sit outside in the sunshine wearing just a shirt, with the deep blue sky as a backdrop. The advantage of this time of year is that there are far fewer tourists, giving travelers the feeling of being more immersed in the local life. You can also enjoy truffles, which start to appear on fine dining tables, and meet truffle hunters who will explain how to harvest this “black gold.” You’ll discover the making of “Santons,” those small terracotta figures that adorn every Christmas nativity scene and are a great Provençal artisanal specialty. In every town, Christmas markets take over the city centers, offering handmade items, decorations, sweets, cakes, and mulled wine. As you can see, it’s a timeless moment that delights both the soul and the taste buds… You will be accommodated in charming 4 and 5-star hotels.
