We recommend the restaurant “chez Davia”. This charming establishment has been run by the same family since 1953. Initially imagined by Davia, the grandmother, it was taken over in 1985 by Alda, the mother, who is now retired. Since 2016, it’s been Pierre Altobelli, the third generation, who, after an impressive career in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Asia, prepares delicious Niçoise recipes. It offers a relaxed gastronomy experience in an elegant, blue-tinted setting inspired by the sea’s infinite chromatic variations. Take advantage of the changing of the prince’s carabiniers, a ceremony orchestrated like clockwork.

Alternating between working as a chef on private yachts in Monaco and serving as a photojournalist for a major magazine, South African Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen has lived multiple lives. In his intimate and romantic little hideaway near the port, he creates a unique menu that showcases his personal, creative cuisine. He masterfully plays with sweet and savory combinations, smoky flavors, spicy and acidic notes, offering a glimpse into South African cuisine. During the cheese course, guests can discover a dining room across from the restaurant, featuring a buffet with more than twenty different cheeses to enjoy with various drinks, jams, and dried fruits. Here, everything is expertly executed: from the striking and memorable flavors to the professional, distinguished, and friendly service. Continue to Les Baux de Provence. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight.
For dinner we recommend hotel’s restaurant a 3 stars Michelin. A remarkable ambassador of the Mediterranean art of living, the Provençal domain of Baumanière offers a unique blend of relaxation, rustic charm, and elegance – a place that has enchanted artists and celebrities for decades. Within these ancient walls, chef Glenn Viel thrives with increasing freedom. He draws inspiration from the rich local production (olive oil from the Baux Valley, organic vegetables from the Baumanière garden, chickens, and pigs) as well as his Breton heritage. Often served in locally crafted tableware, his creations revive traditional fire-cooking techniques, delving deeply into the concept of thermal inertia – the “cooking after cooking” process. The unparalleled textures of dishes like razor clams “feet in the water” or the Costières squab cooked in a hay and rosemary crust vividly illustrate the success of this approach. A master of sauces, Glenn Viel elevates his dishes with powerful jus and intense reductions, such as the lavender-infused meat jus. Pastry chef Brandon Dehan’s original, indulgent creations follow the same quest for authentic flavors, in perfect harmony with the chef. Exceptional service and a wine list boasting 3000 references. We book for you.

Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel. We recommend the restaurant “Hélène Darroze à Villa La Coste* ». At the gateway to the Luberon, Château La Coste, a true masterpiece combining contemporary art and wine, has captivated Hélène Darroze, who has lent her name to the venue. In the heart of Provence, the chef has chosen to focus on plant-based ingredients. Carrots and eggplants from Bruno Cayron, cherries from Florent Lazare: each dish title pays tribute to its producer. The result? Plates full of finesse, showcasing exceptional products without unnecessary sophistication, along with nods to the recipes that have made the famous chef from the South-West successful, such as tandoori-spiced gamberoni or Darroze’s Armagnac baba. The philosophy of the famous Argentine chef is faithfully adhered to here: slowly smoked meat hung on a string, mashed potatoes, and chimichurri; flame-grilled lamb in our dome, eggplant, and fire-roasted peppers… all to be savored in an astonishing setting reminiscent of Argentine haciendas. We book for you.
