Itinerary

Daywise itinerary for a 17-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek, allowing for a more leisurely pace and additional acclimatization days:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

  • Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, and leisure time.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

  • Guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square). Trek preparation in the afternoon.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

  • Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (6-7 hours).

Day 4: Drive to Nayapul, Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m)

  • Drive to Nayapul (1.5 hours), trek to Tikhedhunga via Birethanti (3-4 hours).

Day 5: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860m)

  • Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, ascending steep stone steps (5-6 hours).

Day 6: Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3,210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,630m)

  • Early morning hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Trek to Tadapani (6-7 hours).

Day 7: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170m)

  • Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong through rhododendron forests (5-6 hours).

Day 8: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2,310m)

  • Descend to the Chhomrong Khola and ascend to Sinuwa. Continue to Bamboo (4-5 hours).

Day 9: Bamboo to Deurali (3,230m)

  • Trek from Bamboo to Deurali, passing through Himalayan Hotel and Hinku Cave (5-6 hours).

Day 10: Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m)

  • Trek from Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), surrounded by spectacular mountain views (3-4 hours).

Day 11: Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)

  • Trek to Annapurna Base Camp, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (2-3 hours).

Day 12: Explore Annapurna Base Camp

  • Acclimatization day at Annapurna Base Camp, explore the surroundings, and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Day 13: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

  • Trek back from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (7-8 hours).

Day 14: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,780m)

  • Descend to Chhomrong Khola, ascend to Chhomrong, and descend to Jhinu Danda for a relaxing dip in natural hot springs (5-6 hours).

Day 15: Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, Drive to Pokhara

  • Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara (5-6 hours trek, 1.5 hours drive).

Day 16: Pokhara Sightseeing

  • Explore Pokhara, visit lakes, caves, and temples, optional activities like paragliding or boating.

Day 17: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

  • Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (6-7 hours), farewell dinner in the evening.
