Itinerary
Langtang Valley Trek: 15 Days Daywise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
- Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, and relax.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
- Guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square). Trek preparation in the afternoon.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m)
- Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek (7-8 hours).
Day 4: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m)
- Trek through lush forests and along the Langtang Khola river to Lama Hotel (6-7 hours).
Day 5: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m)
- Continue trekking through dense forests, passing Ghodatabela, and gradually ascending to Langtang Village (6-7 hours).
Day 6: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)
- Trek through yak pastures and alpine meadows, arriving at Kyanjin Gompa, with stunning views of the surrounding peaks (3-4 hours).
Day 7: Acclimatization Day at Kyanjin Gompa
- Explore the area, visit Kyanjin Gompa and the cheese factory, and take a short hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) or Tserko Ri (4,984m) for panoramic views.
Day 8: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
- Retrace your steps back to Lama Hotel, enjoying the descent through the beautiful Langtang Valley (5-6 hours).
Day 9: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2,230m)
- Trek through forests and small settlements, descending to the village of Thulo Syabru (5-6 hours).
Day 10: Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3,330m)
- Ascend through oak, fir, and rhododendron forests to reach Shin Gompa, known for its cheese factory and monastery (4-5 hours).
Day 11: Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (4,380m)
- Trek through alpine landscapes to reach the sacred lake of Gosaikunda, a significant pilgrimage site (5-6 hours).
Day 12: Gosaikunda to Dhunche (1,960m)
- Descend through rocky terrain and forests, passing several small villages, to reach Dhunche (6-7 hours).
Day 13: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu
- Scenic drive from Dhunche back to Kathmandu (6-7 hours). Spend the evening at leisure or explore the local markets.
Day 14: Free Day in Kathmandu
- A day to rest, explore more of Kathmandu, or do some last-minute shopping.
Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu
- Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
