Itinerary
The Everest Classic Trek is a thrilling journey that follows the original route taken by early explorers of Mount Everest. This 17-day trek offers an enchanting experience through the scenic landscapes of the Khumbu region, allowing trekkers to experience the culture of the Sherpa people, visit ancient monasteries, and witness some of the most breath taking mountain views in the world.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
- Arrival: Land in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
- Evening: Trek briefing and preparation.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
- Morning: Guided tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Durbar Square.
- Afternoon: Final preparations for the trek.
Day 3: Drive to Jiri
- Route: Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1,905m).
- Duration: Approximately 7-8 hours.
- Highlights: Enjoy the beautiful landscapes and traditional villages along the way.
Day 4: Trek to Bhandar
- Route: Trek from Jiri to Bhandar (2,190m).
- Duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
- Highlights: Pass through lush forests and terraced fields.
Day 5: Trek to Sete
- Route: Trek from Bhandar to Sete (2,575m).
- Duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
- Highlights: Cross rivers and climb through rhododendron forests.
Day 6: Trek to Junbesi
- Route: Trek from Sete to Junbesi (2,675m).
- Duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
- Highlights: Ascend to Lamjura La Pass (3,530m) and descend into the picturesque Junbesi Valley.
Day 7: Trek to Nunthala
- Route: Trek from Junbesi to Nunthala (2,194m).
- Duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
- Highlights: Visit the ancient Thubten Chholing Monastery and enjoy views of the mountains.
Day 8: Trek to Bupsa
- Route: Trek from Nunthala to Bupsa (2,360m).
- Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours.
- Highlights: Walk through forests and pass traditional Sherpa villages.
Day 9: Trek to Surke
- Route: Trek from Bupsa to Surke (2,290m).
- Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours.
- Highlights: Scenic trails and a gradual climb through the valley.
Day 10: Trek to Phakding
- Route: Trek from Surke to Phakding (2,652m).
- Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours.
- Highlights: Enter the Sagarmatha National Park and follow the Dudh Koshi River.
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar
- Route: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m).
- Duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
- Highlights: Cross suspension bridges and get your first glimpse of Everest.
Day 12: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
- Activities: Acclimatization hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views, visit the Sherpa Museum, and explore Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Trek to Tengboche
- Route: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m).
- Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours.
- Highlights: Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery and enjoy stunning mountain views.
Day 14: Trek to Dingboche
- Route: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m).
- Duration: Approximately 5-6 hours.

Day 15: Trek to Lobuche
- Route: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m).

Day 16: Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp
- Route: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m), then continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and return to Gorak Shep.
- Duration: Approximately 7-8 hours.
- Highlights: Stand at the base of the world’s highest peak and take in the magnificent views.
Day 17: Hike to Kala Patthar and Return to Lobuche
- Early Morning: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for sunrise views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
- Trek: Return to Lobuche and then continue the descent.
