Kanchenjunga Trek in Nepal: 35 Days Daywise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

  • Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport.
  • Transfer to your hotel and rest.
  • Trek briefing in the evening.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

  • Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
  • Final preparations for the trek.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, Drive to Ilam (1,200m)

  • Early morning flight to Bhadrapur.
  • Drive to Ilam, known for its tea gardens (4-5 hours).

Day 4: Drive from Ilam to Taplejung (1,828m)

  • Drive through scenic hills and valleys to Taplejung (7-8 hours).
  • Overnight in Taplejung.

Day 5: Trek from Taplejung to Mitlung (921m)

  • Start trekking through small villages and terraced fields.
  • Reach Mitlung (5-6 hours).

Day 6: Mitlung to Chirwa (1,270m)

  • Trek along the Tamor River.
  • Pass through Sinwa and Tawa villages.

Day 7: Chirwa to Sekathum (1,650m)

  • Reach Kambachen (5-6 hours).

Day 13: Acclimatization Day in Kambachen

Day 14: Kambachen to Lhonak (4,780m)

  • Trek through rocky terrain and moraines.

Day 15: Lhonak to Pangpema (5,143m), Return to Lhonak

Day 16: Lhonak to Ghunsa

Day 18: Selele Camp to Tseram (3,870m)
